Gotta say, early evenings at #theUPgarden are pretty special. Our colourful plants and furniture take on a gorgeous hue during golden hour! We're open until 6pm every day for a balmy stroll, or post-work/school al fresco hang-out!

What a FUN start to the summer! 70+ of you - many discovering #theUPgarden for the first time - joined us for a mini-beasts-themed morning! And we were so lucky to get to meet some stick insects! We’re here every Wednesday until the end of August!

Need to fill up a day now school is done? #theUPgarden is located slap bang in the "Winchelsea" (ooh lah-di-dah) area of Forest Gate! Hit the playgrounds, parks & ponds, & fuel up on caffeine (or something stronger) in between... or save money & take a picnic!

Join in the #BigButterflyCount before 4 August! Help Butterfly Conservation - download their app & record any species seen over 15 mins. So easy! Count them at home, on the go, or at #theUPgarden! We've seen Jersey Tigers, Cinnabars & Small Whites!

Continue the 🏳️‍🌈 celebrations at Forest Gayte #Pride in 2w time (12-14 July) - we have lots planned at #theUPgarden for Sunday 14th! Keep an eye on our Instagram Stories! And next weekend, we'll be at Forest Gate Festival with Manor Park CG & Eco7!

To celebrate #Pride, here's the progress pride flag made from #theUPgarden’s plants & furniture! What do you recognise? And do you know what each flag colour represents? We stand with those still fighting for the right to live, to love, to be. 🏳️‍🌈

We love having Nature Builders at #theUPgarden. Each week, they check on their food crop & bug hotel, then it's learning through play: this week they role-played bees to learn the life cycle of a hive! So exciting to see the next generation enthralled by nature!

Thanks to everyone who visited us on the #ForestGateGardensTrail! Great to introduce #theUPgarden to so many new people! Although we're not listed for today (Sunday) we'll be open as usual (but no tours). Do come for a potter! Thanks also to FG Community Garden for running the trail!

Woodgrange Infant School Nursery visited us this week - so fab to see so many mini-humans exploring & engaging in open play, & to introduce #theUPgarden to lots of families who had no idea we were on their doorsteps! More school visits please!

Our Social Weedia volunteers have been sprucing up #TheUPGarden over the past few weeks in readiness for our Wintertide gathering, & the generally slower-plant-growing cold spell coming up. Why not pop in for a few minutes to say hi? Bring a cuppa!

Our opening hours are now 9am-4pm (ish) due to the clocks going back for Daylight Savings Time. That's still 7 hours every day to come and explore, or just hang out in, #theUPgarden!

We love that #theUPgarden has inspired estate residents to transform their own weed-filled private enclosure into an edible garden with GoodGym Newham’s support. We popped along to have a nosy & will update on their progress! GoodGym are back with us next month!
