This book lived up to the hype. I followed the #SPSFC2 when it was running and was very excited to read this after hearing it won the contest. A solid sci-fi with an immense heart. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🧑🏼‍🚀🐈🚀 (full review on Goodreads) @rory_august --- #SPSFC #booktwt #indiea

For those who followed SPSFC in the past, I feel like this book has plenty in common with Aestus: The City by S.Z. Attwell. That book was eliminated in the first round of #SPSFC and then took third in the entire competition in #SPSFC2, so the range of outcomes is wide!

This book placed third In #SPSFC2, and that accolade is deserved. It’s true that the world of self-published fiction does contain a lot of dross, but there is plenty of gleaming, beautiful gold. S. Z. Atwell is a skilled writer. You’ll enjoy this story. amazon.com/dp/B08FD6TVLJ

Last but not least (in fact, last but actually first), here it is, the winner of this year's #SPSFC2: "The Last Gifts of the Universe", by @rory_august. Congratulations again, from all of us here at The Self-Published Science Fiction Competition! P.S. It's okay, the cat survives. It's fine. hatboy.blog/2023/08/05/the…

My penultimate review for Team Space Leftovers and The Self-Published Science Fiction Competition's #SPSFC2 was "Melody" by David Hoffer is revising. An incredible story that just gets more fascinating the more I think about it. So why do I spend so much of the review saying "fuck this book"? Curious. hatboy.blog/2023/08/05/mel…

I'm still chipping away at my last few reviews for The Self-Published Science Fiction Competition's #SPSFC2, and today finished off this little piece for #SPSFC finalist Tobias Cabral: Night Music. Finally, a Mars landing / mission story that's actually believable! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #GetYourAssToMars hatboy.blog/2023/08/03/nig…

If you could live for five hundred years or more, would you accept a deal of 30 years' work, 20 years' break? And ... well, isn't that already what we're doing with our lives? My next review for The Self-Published Science Fiction Competition and "Hammer and Crucible" is live! #spsfc #spsfc2 hatboy.blog/2023/07/25/ham…

This is a golden opportunity for indie writers to look inside the head of a book blogger and #SPSFC & #SPSFC2 judge. It’s hard to take. The truth often is. But there are lessons here on how not to lose a reader who takes a chance on your indie book atboundarysedge.com/2023/07/22/a-f…
