A few months ago Hugo Boss’s proposed Grafton St shopfront fell foul of a very fastidious DCC planning officer. “We need more of this attention to detail”, I thought. But then across the street eir can just superglue a shopfront onto its listed building and be done with it 🙄

Lovely old shopfront in Ballycastle, probably living on borrowed time sadly. Noticed the same letters used on another shop nearby, so someone must have been churning them out

33-34 Haymarket. Built 1741, considered the oldest shopfront in #London . Freibourg & Treyer were tobacconists there from 1751 until 1970. Originally just in 33 but took over 34 in 1912. George IV was a customer. A clue to its past is a heritage sign in the window.
