My usual 6am session with PD Bert & then Ella at Killerton absolutely lovely. Looking forward to training our Catello pups today TPD’s Ace, Jasper, Herbie, Kilo & Diesel. We will be doing tracking, stand offs, person searching & prep for the Devon county show. 👍

More good work by Scott and TPD Ozzie in a very busy dog walking park. Not all dog handlers follow Twitter but if they did they would see just how much work our puppy walking volunteers put into their dogs.

TPD Ace is now 7 months and is starting to show the promise that he showed as a very young pup. Mike and Kim are always totally committed to their pups & so it’s nice to see their patience paying off. A bit of chilling and a bit of ‘Watch’ training

Really enjoyable day yesterday with TPD Blue & his sister TPD Belle. Phil demonstrating a down stay, retrieve of his toy and ‘Out’ 👏

Another one of our dedicated puppy walkers Mike who goes off to work at 5am leaving TPD Ace with his wife Kim. As soon as Mike gets home it’s straight up to the training field with Ace. The field is owned by Dave Maynard who puppy walked PD Luna & allows Mike to use it. 👏

#PDDare had a sunrise visit to the memorial after his nightshift. Hopefully he enjoyed his sleep before his last shift of the set tonight.

Phil has only had TPD Blue for just over a month but he has really brought him on.

Both TPD Belle and TPD Blue both very enthusiastic on the introduction to their first person searching training session yesterday.👍

Search1. Ella and PD Bert are definitely going to miss each other when PD Bert finally leaves us. A little joint search for a toy each just to get them started in which Ella was the victor. Things changed on their second search.

PD Bert will be leaving me on the 21/5 to go to his new handler Sgt Kevin Rigers who is the supervisor for Ashburton and Plymouth dog sections. Kevin’s dog PD Rudi retires that week. I puppy walked Rudi and watched him go on to be a very successful PD with Kevin.

After performing an excellent chase and detain PD Bert repeated the exercise but immediately stopped chasing and returned to his handler when instructed to do so.
