Quasimorph, 0.7.2 IS OUT! Thanks for hosting #TurnBasedThursday Quasimorph, 0.7.2 IS OUT! #ruinsOfCalaworm is a streamlined turn-based Dungeon Crawler, where you explore ancient Ruins and bump into Witches and Eldritch Horrors (based on an obscure 90s german cult game called "Die Gemäuer von #Kalawaum").
Tom Jensen Built editor and game logic simultaneously, they use the same framework. Classic #Kalawaum's selling point was handcrafted maps, so Editor was a must, and I wanted a tool to just place stuff and test on the fly. Later I also doubled down on procGen potential.☺️ More early shots:
Wishlist Rogue, Rogue, Baby! 🍼 Ember | Little streaming bean Thanks! :-) My game has a more ancient legacy than classic Rogue; it kinda scratches that itch, but it's closer to 1979's DUNGEON! for Commodore PET (with more feature creep😅). ACTUALLY it's based on an obscure early 90s gem called #Kalawaum, tho (barely known outside Germany).
Hooded Horse #TurnBasedThursday - Turn-Based Game Showcases Hello Hooded Horse, how're u doing? 🤗 #ruinsOfCalaworm is a tribute to 90s german cult #roguelike #Kalawaum. Despite QoL concessions, gameplay remains very oldschool. Completed a milestone, with Demo released after major overhaul. Now figuring out, where to go from here ...
u/Avatar-of-Chaos This. 🤣 The mechanic is legacy from classic #Kalawaum, but those were the 90s ... Teleport Traps will still surprise you the first time around, though, and warning is exclusive for that particular run, so no reason to be extra cruel. I don't consider Players my enemy. ❤️🤗
#ruinsOfCalaworm Demo is coming TODAY to itch.io. I am currently at my daytime job, but will get to it after I'm home. Should be online in the early evening hours (CET). Thanks for your patience. 👻❤️💀 #roguelike #kalawaum #indiegame The game's page: erdbeerscherge.itch.io/ruins-of-calaw…
XSGames (by Frank Eno) Thanks for hosting! ❤️🙏 Name's Alexander from Germany, hobby #gameDev working on #ruinsOfCalaworm, rework of obscure german cult #roguelike #Kalawaum, from early 90s. Streamlined and concise mechanics, less math, more dungeon crawling. Cute Pixelart meets Lovecraft'ian horror.
