A flock of Glossy ibises foraging in South Lake. 🧡🐦
Did you know? Glossy ibises nest in colonies. Flocks of Glossy ibis forage quite close together, advancing slowly as they probe a muddy area. 🐦🪱

You almost always see ibises in groups and near the water, but there's always this one guy skulking around all alone and deeper into the preserve. Maybe he's some kind of spy or double agent. Or maybe they just kicked him out of the tribe for being a jerk.

It's makeover time for the crested ibises, a precious species in China🪶, at Shanghai Wild Animal Park!

As the breeding season unfolds🪺, their white feathers are turning gray from the neck to the back, showing they're grown up.

White Ibis (Eudocimus albus)

This is a juvenile white ibis; I ran across two of these birds in Georgia. Just a little bit out of their normal range - I think.
