With the lambing shed quiet took the chance to check the top flock on a beautiful evening & spend a little time with them. Droopsy enjoying the evening sun after a day of occasional heavy hail showers.

Herdwicks sind bekanntlich die tollsten Schafe überhaupt, und obwohl sie eigentlich im Lake District in England zuhause sind, gibt es auch ein paar im etwas südlicher gelegenen Peak District, und die hab ich jetzt mal besucht.

As we head into our fourth week of lambing we only have 2 ewes left to lamb. This ewe had twins yesterday a beautiful girl & the teeniest tiny boy I've ever seen. Unfortunately despite our efforts he didn't make it. Mum & daughter doing well & will head out into the fields soon

Matt England Sheep graze the newly emerging Dock leaves. Dock beetle should come along in June July and shred them. Top and collect seeding flower stems late July. As levels of NPK drop docks vanish. NPK also encourages creeping thistle. Top flowering ones or graze them with Herdwicks!
