The Roots, Tubers, and Bananas – East Africa Germplasm Exchange Laboratory ( #RTBEAGEL ) to be housed at KEPHIS Muguga will contribute to increased productivity by:

✅Expedite the testing and release of new varieties
✅Manage pests and diseases
✅Provide ‘nucleus’ quality seeds

Livestock Conservancy member Oogie McGuire's flock of Black Welsh Mountain Sheep was a test flock for the USDA's National Animal Germplasm Program. The NAGP has 169 samples of Black Welsh Mountain semen cryopreserved, one of the best-represented CPL breeds in the NAGP collection.
