Ciekawostka: w tym roku mija 50. rocznica reformy walutowej w Wielkiej Brytanii i Irlandii, w wyniku której rodzina naszych bohaterów wyszła z obiegu i na dobre zamieszkała w skarbonkach. Witaj w Polsce #Sixpence x 500 egz, kto policzy?🤩#DecimalisationDay #LouisMacNeice #Convivo

Apparently it’s 50 years today since decimalisation. Anyone else remember this song by Max Bygraves which was on the radio and telly in the run-up to the big day? youtu.be/jCiEzQ4EGk4 #DecimalisationDay

the BBC Radio 4 PM Evan Davis piece on #DecimalisationDay reminded me, I remember wondering what the fuss was about. We returned from #Zambia in May 1971 having had our own D-Day in 1968 when we emigrated. 100 ngwee to the kwacha!

I've long been accused of "living in the past" - even the past which pre-dates me! The final mintage of "old coins" from 1970 (according to my gran's notes they were only available as the full set in this final year). #OnThisDay #DecimalisationDay

50th anniversary of Decimalisation Day today. On 15 February 1971, my nana Mary Maher got an early morning bus to work in Dublin Castle. She was snapped by an Irish Press photographer as the 'first lady decimal passenger' - she kept the change! #decimalisationday put the animals back on the coins
