There’s no such thing as perfect parenting in a world marred by sin. But there is redemption in the One Who took it all on Himself.

As the years go on, you look back on your early parenthood and regret some things or wish you’d done this or that differently.

You realize that you simply didn’t know what you didn’t know.

And it dawns on you that your parents didn’t, either.

I don’t care if the lyrics are out of context or if it’s cheesy to quote Dido.

Tell you what… the world could use more wives taking these words as their marriage anthem.

It produces compassion.
It can help the healing process.
It bids us forgive, lest we not be forgiven.

This world could use more wives who fight for their marriages on their knees before God, taking their thoughts captive on the battleground that is their hearts, smashing their idols and rebuking lies rather than ruminating on them.
