My former collegue at TUT, Prof Maserumule wrote about this in Mail and Guardian recently. He said Black academics, and I paraphrase, struggle to extricate themselves from coloniality because our education, and I include myself, is colonial.

Decolonization is not a metaphor! Be it in Palestine, or Balochistan. Resistance is the byproduct of the oppression. The systematic dehumanization of Baloch people does not exist in isolation, but it is interwined with the coloniality, imperialism, military hegemony that has lead

I notice every single one of my social-science colleagues who go on about their day, their lives and their work and pretend that this isn’t happening. It teaches me more about race and coloniality than any of their research.

My latest artwork is called 'Queerphobic Coloniality: Israel Must Pay'.

It's currently included in the 'Gaza Queer Modalities' exhibition at the Tate Modern, but from July I'll be accepting offers starting at $300k.

All proceeds will go to the queer freedom fighters of Gaza.

my brilliant ✨ sisters- comrade Dr Rabea M. Khan and Jasmine K Gani wrote an indispensable article on positionality statements. if you feel seen/ singled out: re-read it as a labour of anti-colonial revolutionary feminist love. i learned so much. 🙏🏾✨academic.oup.com/isq/article/68…

Decolonization is what folks in Black Studies think they’re doing when they “deconstruct,” but somehow always leave coloniality and whiteness in tact.

Colonialism and imperialism live on, it is now, not in the past. Those who refuse to understand the brutalities and ongoing coloniality of the matrix of power are doomed to forever be in the wrong.
