It's looking like North Atlantic sea surface temperatures have peaked, reaching 25.38°C on September 8th.
The latest a peak high temperature was reached was September 10th, in both 2007 and 2008. I'll give this a few more days before finalizing the #climatecasino fake-wagers.
In a normal year, we would be at or near the North Atlantic peak temperature.
Today's temperature of 25.19°C was 0.52°C higher than the previously recorded high for this date.
