Back in Western Australia and we were greeted by these Ptilotus sp. during some road side botanizing.

SW Australia...always stunning.

Took a break to go botanizing and herping with naturalist friends in NW Georgia, and was privileged to find a pigeon mountain salamander, the only place on earth this species is found. As non-birds go, this was pretty spectacular.

After a decade of botanizing and many travels all around Iran, I believe I am still an amateur researcher.

Fritillaria imperialis
South Zagros, Iran
Blooming April
Altitude 2400m
Yellow form is really rare, and you must be very lucky to visit them after several years Botanizing.

The flying duck orchid (Caleana major)!!! This legendary orchid obviously gets it common name from the incredible resemblance it has to a duck in flight! s

I do a lot of botanizing from a boat for my research. Even in winter! I often botanize in parks with the family for fun. Some of my favorite study sites happen to be in parks! George Washington Carver National Monument and Valley Water Mill Park

Mimi 🧵This is an amazing year for botanizing. There are plants blooming that no one has seen in years, if ever. The epic winter rains brought out diversity. A local took me to see this buckwheat which was on top of a rhyolitic peak, and was quite the 4x4 adventure to get to.

Over the last wk, my friends and I raised >43k €. I bought 39 thermal telescopes, 13 of which are already in use in 🇺🇦, the rest is on the way. I also did some botanizing while delivering the telescopes. So here are some Iris pumila and Pulsatilla grandis from CZ for YOU ALL💙💛

Finally, this morning, my yellow Fritillaria imperialis(wild form) bloomed after three years of care. Yellow form is very, very rare in natural habitats. During ten years of botanizing, I only saw four yellow colors in natural habitats.

Found this in the loft. Wild flower society journal from 1986 where as a 15 year old I found 1000 species of flower in England in a year. It's 30 years since I was in Sark botanizing, I'll see if some of the species are still there. BSBI: Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland
