#HK , 16 June 2019. Sea of black as HongKongers mourned the passing of #antielab protestor, Marco Leung Ling-kit, who had fallen to his death a day earlier. Demo organisers estimated a turnout of 2 mil + 1. The +1, they said, was Marco, whose spirit marched with them.

If the 1 million #HongKong people that marched on 9 June 2019 did so in the hope that people power would do the trick, the 2 million that turned up on 16 June 2019 felt pure rage over authorities’ refusal to listen, as well as distrust over their non-concessions. (1/2)

2/ I do remember 'police' being very sheepish that day and they mostly stayed out of the way.
