Imagine Ethereum but with super-fast transactions and way less storage on nodes.

Sounds totally futuristic, huh?

Well, there's this cool idea called 4444 that makes it happen

So, like, why's $BTC still super trendy even after the halving?

Not just supply crunch is the reason,

BUT

BTC world's exploding with BTC etfs , L2s, new protocols like ordinals, BRC20s. Plus Runes now is driving up demand & cash inflowsπŸ“ˆ

Conclusion

EIP-4444 upgrade is probably gonna take a while before it's up and running. It's still in its early stages, and there's a ton of talk happening about it.

To tackle this concern , vitalik.eth proposed EIP-4444 - solution known as node pruning.

This will allow nodes to ditch the old stuff, making it easier for more people to run nodes and participate in the network and enhance the scalability.

Implication

But here’s a catch ALL the old data (called archival nodes) would be gone. This could lead to less access to old data, pushing people towards centralized providers for it.

Think of it as a way to clean out your phone's storage to make those apps run smoother.

Ethereum will do same thing because storing all its history takes up a ton of space.

Normally, every computer on the network (called a node) has to store everything that's on Ethereum. This can get massive, like upto 1TB
