While campus protests continue in North America, University of Toronto (UofT) issued this statement, and King’s College Circle in UofT is fenced off.

UofT. Since when the fuck were protests meant to be convenient for status quo? The entire point is to make it inconvenient and to bring change if they want things to run again. #StudentsForGaza #StudentProtests

UofT: our university operates in the land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. We honour this relation.

Also UofT: UofT’s lands and buildings are private property, activities have to be authorised and encampments are considered trespassing.

I can't deal with UofT (University of Toronto) restricting students from protesting. We need to educate, organize and agitate. How much longer will we let them support genocide like this?

Students and faculty have the inherent right to exercise their freedom of speech and engage in peaceful protest.

It is the responsibility of the University of Toronto Scarborough / University of Toronto administration to safeguard students from external repression, including instances of police violence.

I'm not suprised UofT blocked off that giant lawn area and put up signs saying 'no encampments'.

I also won't be surprised when those barriers get busted down.

UofT was one of the last to divest from the SA apartheid. Students were relentless and forced them to. They hope students are ahistorical and that a fence will stop them. But it will happen. UofT will be forced to divest from Isr*el and I can't wait #FreePalestine
