Shout-out to my studies species, the #endangered spotted-tailed #quoll , this #ThreatenedSpeciesDay . We can all play a part in conserving and improving Australia's ecosystems by ensuring we have leaders who care for our unique wildlife.
Today is #ThreatenedSpeciesDay so here is a piece I painted earlier showing two of our adorable Australian threatened species… which one is cuter, the spotted quoll or the numbat?
You decide.
Oenpelli pythons (Nawaran oenpelliensis) are one of Australia’s largest and most range-restricted snake species... and they deserve some love for #ThreatenedSpeciesDay
Did you know Koalas are losing their homes to excessive deforestation ?
They can only be found in the wild on the southeast and eastern sides of Australia
Drop Bears will be continually donating 40% of our 5% secondary sales to the Koala species !

On 7 September, 1936 the last #thylacine died, a victim of human greed. It was the last of a species, a genus, a whole family of mammals - truly, the last of its kind. Let us not be condemned to making the same mistakes. #ThreatenedSpeciesDay
One of my favourite Canberrans, the Gang-gang cockatoo.
The threatened species scientific committee recently recommended that they be listed as endangered 😢
It doesn't have to be like this!

For #ThreatenedSpeciesDay here's a Hooded Plover (Critically Endangered in NSW). #shorebirds #WildOz
It's #ThreatenedSpeciesDay ! This #HoodedPlover wanted to remind us how much trouble they face to survive every year. If you head to the beach this weekend, give these birds space, especially now that they're breeding!

Today is National #ThreatenedSpeciesDay which marks the last day the Tasmanian tiger, aka thylacine was known to be alive in 1936. We can all play a part in protecting #endangeredspecies and preventing extinctions
It's #ThreatenedSpeciesDay , so here are two new posters featuring some of Kosciuszko's smallest names, as they stare down the barrelaro of feral horses, commercial expansion and a warming climate

This imagine never ceases to anger and revolt me; both emotions I use as motivating forces in my job Environmental Justice Australia
Not a nice fact, but fitting for #ThreatenedSpeciesDay .
King Island was once home to a dwarf Emu (~1m tall), however, they were lost in the early 1800s due to overhunting and land clearing. Likely the first extinction in Australia following European invasion.
