Matt Kasson, PhD 🍄🧫 I'm so sorry! I've mentioned what's happening over there to colleagues and folks are so unaware that #SaveWVU is a thing. 🙁 Hoping you keep your job! ❤️❤️❤️

These numbers are also not including those who've chosen to leave earlier this year due to the dumpster fire that is Academic Transformation (there are indeed folks who've explicitly stated that this is the reason), and the many more who will gtfo in the years to come. #SaveWVU

these include but are not limited to higher teaching loads, larger class sizes, cuts to printing, canceled courses, cuts to conference travel (professional development for employees), unannounced freezes to research start-up funds, etc., etc., etc. #SaveWVU

Note that these are cuts to personnel only. There've been numerous other cuts & moves to create "efficiencies" that will affect students, faculty, and staff that are not being publicized: #SaveWVU

These cuts are bad. But one of the most troubling aspects of what's been happening at WVU is all of the administrative doublespeak & deception by omission we've been getting from the university leadership. Keep your eyes and ears open, friends. #SaveWVU

Gee & Co. say they've been transparent, but WVU employee cuts go far deeper than many realize. 143 faculty cuts were announced, but 135 faculty & staff were cut earlier this year, 8 were cut from Chambers & $800K in cuts to library staff & faculty are forthcoming #SaveWVU

WVCW Responds to Unannounced Cuts—8 Chambers Faculty Members Let Go Due to Budget "These cuts are impacting units that were not identified for review or reductions under Academic Transformation." "In total, 281 WVU employees have been cut in 2023 that we are aware of." #SaveWVU

More cuts that the administration is not announcing and instead sweeping under the rug. And last update is *8* people were let go in Business today. #SaveWVU

Interesting how senior administrators—including many who've supported or been spokespersons for Academic Transformation—have received huge salary increases (the kind most faculty and staff never see) during Academic Transformation. #SaveWVU
