Yesterday's Black-winged Stilt is still here today. Looking at the photos we can see contrast on the mantle (yellow arrow) which points to it being a female (males have glossy backs) and a white trailing edge to the wing makes this a 2023 bird. Could this be last years fledgling?

What a day... A record count of 469 Avocets, a Black-winged Stilt, waders everywhere, and freshly baked hot cross scones in the café. What's not to love!

First time in Lincolnshire this YEAR (!) and nice to ‘find’ a Bonaparte's Gull at RSPB Frampton Marsh 🌍 also 78 species including Lesser Yellowlegs and BWStilt…. What a great site. Well done team RSPB! 👍

Exciting to witness a bit of a weed dance by the Great Crested Grebes today at RSPB Frampton Marsh 🌍 on the reedbed.

Just sat here compiling today's #RSPBFrampton sightings and there are dozens of Sand Martins whizzing past the office window, just above the water surface of the reedbed.

A new UK-wide research project will be highlighting saltmarshes in Lincolnshire.

The towers will provide data that can help our understanding of how saltmarshes function as carbon sinks.

The Environment Agency is working with UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and RSPB England RSPB Frampton Marsh 🌍.
