On this day in 1985, a young backrower bearing a surname synonymous with the Penrith footy club made his 1st grade debut in an 18-12 loss to Balmain @ Leichhardt Oval. John Cartwright would go on to play 187 premiership games, incl. the 1991 grand final victory.
