1st Coal Cargo of the 2023-24 season begun unloading at the Norochcholai Power plant yesterday. 40 Cargos of Coal is scheduled to be unloaded by May 2024 and 4 cargos are scheduled to be unloaded in September 2023.

More than 400 locals and Chinese are involved in the maintenance of #Norochcholai . We have already paid more to the #Chinese as local engineers still cannot rehabilitate the coal power plant without Chinese expertise.

Progress on Coal Procurement & Fund Requirements was reviewed with the Lanka Coal Company & CEB. The 1st of the 38 Cargos of Coal required for the Norochcholai Lakwijaya Power Plant this season arrived last night & the 2nd coal cargo is expected to arrive on the 31st of October.
