I suffer with SAD & this winter’s bad but I’m thankful for things that get me out for some light. Thanks Hamamelis, Daphne, Galanthus, #NewYearPlantHunt , necrobotany, ferns, swelling buds, clear skies, botany friends & knowing spring will come one day. Not resorted to birding yet
#wildflowerhour No new flowers this week to add to my #newyearplanthunt finds - but the Hazels continue to be the stars around here #severnvale
Apart from a Daisy, we found a total of 7 flowering plants; White- and Red-dead nettle, Groundsel, Hazel (so tiny!), Ragwort and Viburnum (smells exquisite) #NewYearPlantHunt #wildflowerhour
Marsh Marigold on todays #NewYearPlantHunt list. Lollycocks Field Local Nature Reserve, Sleaford, Lincolnshire.

#WildflowerHour #NewYearPlantHunt 2023, the results from Wivenhoe, north Essex, with a keen group of 15: just over half the species in flower compared with the equivalent date/route last year. Highlight probably White Ramping Fumitory...1/2
Amongst the blurry #NewYearPlantHunt pictures of wind blown, half finished, not quite open #WildFlowerHour flowers taken today, this was probably my best effort. Female Hazel flowers and unopened male catkins, Lincolnshire
Started 2024 the right way with a morning #NewYearPlantHunt and found 16 plants with open flowers along a road verge in TW12/TW2...
Lesser Celandine from 2 Jan for #wildflowerhour in East Berkshire (also submitted to #NewYearPlantHunt ). Photo might have been less blurry if I wasn't contending with Storm Henk! Anyway, a flower with the hope of spring to come :)
Just a couple of species spotted in flower on this morning's walk around Holywell, Northumberland. White dead-nettle and Gorse (of course). #NewYearPlantHunt BSBI: Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland
