Man yesterday was a dark day. The opioid epidemic is evolving, fentanyl is now commonly being laced with a tranquilizer called xylazine making it even more dangerous. Narcan won’t stop the overdoses, the withdrawals are horrific, and it can literally rot your flesh off the bone.

Last night we had a great turnout for our @ColonieEMS CPR Training event at the Crossings. Attendees learned how to perform hands-only CPR, administer Narcan and use an AED in case of an emergency. A huge thank you to the all of the amazing EMS professionals!

The last family picture before Max passed from #fentanyl poisoning. I gave him two doses of #Narcan but it was too late. My daughter earned her PhD 4 days later. She is my world.

If you’re someone who does harm reduction outreach, or happens to be around/respond to a lot of overdoses:

I would HIGHLY encourage you to order, and get comfortable with, using intramuscular 0.4mg Naloxone shots instead of Narcan nasal sprays.

There are severe repercussions for having an emergency system that is over-burdened with calls from people OD’ing and needing Narcan. I’ve heard so many times that normal people in acute health emergencies can’t get an ambulance to show up in less than 30 minutes. It’s tragedy.

Still day after day this will never be normalized for me but what it does is keep me fighting more and more for a change no matter we’re a person is at In there life there life is still valuable more then 4 Narcan #thatsfentalife

Just had to save someone from an opiate OD on the MBTA- shouted for some1 w/ narcan thank fuck a nurse was coming from the WL platform everyone was just walking by this guy, im fucking angry at humans but thankful someone helped. he got taken by mbta authority praying for him

I have lost multiple people in my life to use, my own father. I am narcan certified, I see open use almost every shift at my job. Explaining to someone why they are getting pqt is not shaming someone for using.

Thread: 10-year old boy had to be given narcan because he was POISONED by fentanyl when he walked home from school. This is why we are screaming!
