I overheard one student later say to another, “Let’s go to IMA, where at least there is hope.” IMA was the program that I directed at #NYUShanghai.

When I was there, I had #NYUShanghai students coming to me saying that they had “ruined their life” by going to #NYU’s #China campus because the Humanities, Science and Engineering majors were all that bad.

I’m glad that word is getting out about how mediocre #NYUShanghai actually is, and from sources other than me. If it didn’t have #NYU’s name, nobody would go to this third-rate college masquerading as a “research university.”

In 2018 the number of incoming study away students was 113. This year it’s 127. I believe #NYUShanghai can make it to 134 by 2030 if they start using this much better welcome video.

#NYUShanghai starts a local chapter of the Future Disappeared and Jailed Entrepreneurs Club.

Linda Mills seems content to let Jeffrey Lehman and Joanna Waley-Cohen drive #NYUShanghai into the ground. All of the problems outlined in this former student’s video have existed at #NYU’s #Shanghai campus for 11 years. That’s 11 years of mediocrity. It’s difficult to fathom.

But the worst thing that she says is, and I’ve also said this before, that despite the fact that students at #NYUShanghai are forcibly integrated in their dorms they still break down into cliques based on nationality. This is a huge failure by #NYU to create a cohesive community.
