Way late for #Microber2021 considering it's nearly December, but I want to share this #sporulation knit hat design! A post about sporulation on craftimism.com is coming soon. 🦠🧶

I love that #microber2021 inspired a blog post! This is why I love science art, when we visualise things we have to wonder if it *really* looks like that.

How it started, and how it's going! 3d printed my Carbonite-frozen microbe from @LizahvdAart's #microber2021. Might be an interesting Christmas ornament?

Day 31 of #Microber2021: Monstrous We’ve got lots of friendly #bacteria out in costume for the final day of this year’s #Inktober. Not everyone got a name plate, but those that do have fitting costumes.

Inktober/Microber 2021 Day 31 Monstrous 👻🦠 Even less dangerous bacteria can become a serious threat if they develop resistance to available antibiotics. #inktober #inktober2021 #microber2021 instagram.com/p/CVtFEprtzsw/…

#Microber2021 day 31 - monstrous Group A Streptococcus can cause flesh-eating disease, also called necrotizing fasciitis. Through four genetic diversification events, a harmless bacterium became a flesh-eating monster, causing epidemic human infections worldwide... #sciart

That was #microber2021 !! A big thanks to everyone who joined, it was amazing to see so much microbiology inspired art <3 I believe that by making a lot of microbiology work we increase the visibility of microbiology - which is good for everyone!

31 - Monstrous!! Serratia marcescens is a bacterium that can produce red pigment called prodigiosin. This bacterium mostly grew in bread and polenta, but it's also suggested that it could be found on damp Italian statues, creating the stories of Mary crying blood. #microber2021
