I found that I really enjoy collaborative work. After receiving my DrPH, I decided to focus on that side of things - and helped create the wholly collaborative Principal Biostatistician role, the first non-faculty doctoral position in the department.

As ARB, I worked w/investigators from different services Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Major highlight: working w Alexia Iasonos & Eli Diamond on a #clinicaltrial of MEK inhibitor Cobimitineb for histiocytic neoplasms. That work resulted in FDA approval of the drug bit.ly/3JjQPa8

To reach these students, we 🤝 with awesome #STEM -focused NYC orgs (BEAM, Einstein Enrichment Program Einstein Office of Diversity Enhancement, The City University of New York STEM Research Academy, Baruch STEP Academy Academy), schools (@SuccessCharters), and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s own Summer Exposure Program.

We present our “Biostats Day” program to these orgs, including:
-Intro to the field
- ?s we help answer
- Day in the life
- Guest biostatistician
- Activities with live data analysis and viz.
It is really fun – especially the interactive parts!

I’m a career-changer to #Biostatistics (previously I worked in interactive media). I trained in the #Genetics of Complex Disorders & focused on integrative genomics for my dissertation (including #TCGA analyses: doi.org/10.1016/j.cell…) with advisors Ronglai Shen & Yuanjia Wang.
