Pee Dee made a Songkran offering to the spirits of our moo Baan this morning. The offerings included the head of a pig. The altars are just behind my house so I’m hoping the spirits are quickly satisfied, and it doesn’t get left out there for too long. 555 #LifeInAThaiForest

Science girl Made with palm sugar (you can see him cutting it into cubes about 1/2 through). Palm sugar is sold in blocks and eaten in pieces like candy. It’s a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth experience. And bua loi is my favorite dessert because of the palm sugar. #LifeInAThaiForest
