Our Ladybirds of Ireland Dataset has just been updated with all data up to June and now has 21,365 records across 34 species: maps.biodiversityireland.ie/Dataset/255
This is an incredible achievement, so thanks to all of those who have submitted data.

7-Spot Ladybird has recently jumped to the most recorded species in 2025, with 687 records in total.

1040 Ladybird records have been validated across the first 3 months of this year.
This is a phenomenal recorder effort, with the regular data for March and inconspicuous species records for Q1 all ready for loading to Biodiversity Maps.

All of this data will be used to inform our Ladybird Atlas 2025 project.

More than halfway through March and a quick look at the species stats section on Ireland's Citizen Science Portal shows that 7-Spot Ladybird is currently the most recorded species this month.
Great to see so many records coming in for this species.

Our Ladybirds of Ireland dataset has recently been updated with over 500 records from Don Cotton's collection of records.
Don Cotton was a phenomenal ecologist and natural historian and we're delighted that his records will help to inform our #LadybirdAtlas2025 project.
The validated December data has been added to Biodiversity Maps along with records for inconspicuous ladybird species from across Q4 of 2024.
The dataset now has 18,597 across 34 species as we enter our final field season for the #LadybirdAtlas2025 project.
The final batch of Ladybird data for 2024 has just been validated and will be loaded to Biodiversity Maps shortly.
This includes the data submitted in December along with records for inconspicuous species for all of Q4.

Our Ladybirds of Ireland dataset has recently been updated with data from November and the second round of our #LadybirdAtlas2025 surveys.
The dataset now has 18,492 across 34 species, which is a great position to be in going into the final year of fieldwork.

This species only has 39 records in our Ladybirds of Ireland dataset, so always nice to see submissions for this species.
