Good to be reminded of my little Island's place in the history of great live music events! Must have been an incredible weekend (and all for less than the price of a pint today!)

Contemplating moving to ? It’s a land rich in social history. Beloved and prized by Islanders is the old DL car registration plates. I learned so much about when I joined Isle of Wight Overners Facebook Group.

Throwback Thursday ⏪
Here is a peek at how Newport Bus Station used to look. Opened in 1962 this photo is from the mid sixties. You can see the well stocked Travel shop and the corner section is still visible these days at the entrance to Next!

A step back in time!

A plaque in memory of Valentine Gray 'The Little Sweep' in Newport.

In 1822 just 9 yrs old, Valentine Gray was one of many chimney climbing boys, was found dead in a filthy outhouse where he was forced to sleep and badly ill-treated.

I loved delving into the history of the Island’s oldest cinema. This is my favourite place to take the kids — with its old beautiful building and the smell of freshly popped corn.
