Most of my study colonies are counted from the ground but some are just *too* big. UAVs are useful for photographing big flat colonies, so I can now slowly count our biggest colony, one bird at a time, from the comfort of home. Any guesses on final colony size? 1/

After 2 days of travel I’m finally home after field season #2. Over 2 months we tagged 64 across 4 field sites, collected 109 diet samples, counted 17 colonies, gave 1 radio interview & 1 presentation. Lots of exciting data to analyse next (after a lot of sleep)!
