President Guelleh of Djibouti knows that Siyad Barre completely closed Berbera port in 1970s, which align with his objective. His strategy is “to support Mogadishu & oppose #Somaliland ” to achieve that goal. The MOU disrupted his plans and limited his option against Ethiopia.

The China-built 752.7-km #Ethiopia - #Djibouti railway served 148,664 passengers and earned 2.84 billion Ethiopian birr (about $50 million) in the first 9 months of the Ethiopian fiscal year 2023/2024, which started on July 8, 2023, up by about $1.12 million from last year.
