Biographies of objects can be truly remarkable. The silk designer Anna Maria Garthwaite created this design in the #1740s in London. It was woven by Peter Lekeux & sold on Oct 23 1747. The finished waistcoat, is now The Metropolitan Museum of Art whilst Garthwaite’s design is V&A. What tales!
