Tell them to stick it up their derriere and get some industrial action started . Exclusive: Government offers 1.9% uplift as part of contract negotiations - Pulse Today pulsetoday.co.uk/news/breaking-…

Dr Dave Triska (@dave_dlt) 's Twitter Profile Photo

1.9% uplift. They don’t care about you accessing primary care. They want us closed. *no-one* can take a 20% operating budget drop over the next 5 years and run at anything like the capacity they do now.

This shows the value the tories put on General Practice, derisiory and insulting. It saddens me to say this but General Practice now needs to take significant industrial action to safeguard the service and ultimately patient safety. It is within their power to avoid this.

General Practice will soon be asking GP BMA members across England what they think of the latest contract imposition. 2% uplift on the back of high inflation, huge costs in surgeries and woefully inadequate support from NHS England . Join the BMA. Have your say. Vote with us.

It was this graphic (I added the numbers & context) that 3yrs ago started my journey from jobbing GP to NHS data geek How could I as a GP of 27yrs not know the context of NHS workload The 3yrs have been enlightening, rewarding & I’ve made many friends We need to #SavetheNHS

Govt has not had to bail out gen practice We’ve hit every govt target We have zero deficit We’ve lost 2,000 GPs in recent years We’re seeing more patients yr on yr We’ve seen 1,000 practices close We’re being given a 1.9% uplift Your GP surgery might soon disappear #GPSOS

Hi Gordon Smart BBC Radio 5 Live - I’m a GP & we are working our socks off to help our patients. No wonder satisfaction has fallen. 2000 less GPs when govt promised 5000 more. 6 mill more patients & 1.4 mill appointments per day. We’re doing more with less and govt have abandoned us

Dr David Wrigley (@davidgwrigley) 's Twitter Profile Photo

***** BREAKING NEWS **** GPs in England have overwhelmingly rejected the govt contract offer. ‘Do you accept the contract’ YES 0.8% NO 99.2% Turnout 61.2% Over 2500 GPs joined The BMA in just 5 weeks. Incredible. Thank you. The committee is meeting now to discuss next steps

In my role I speak to GPs up & down the country. They all now say ‘enough is enough’. We are witnessing the constructive dismissal of NHS Gen Practice by this govt. We General Practice wrote to NHS England & govt to say we’re in dispute. There’s more to come from GPs. Watch this space…

**BREAKING** - GP pushback part 2 Here’s a letter General Practice has sent to the leaders of each of the 42 ICBs across England advising them to add our imminent action & crisis to their risk registers. If we revert to core general practice care it will have a huge impact on the system

It's puzzling that people blame "the NHS" for the state it's in. It's not a religion, simply a mechanism for paying for universal care (tax funded, free at the point of need, largely publicly provided). The main reasons it can't cope with demand, in no particular order are... 1.

Interesting from Wes Streeting “From today, the policy of this department is that the NHS is broken" Ties in with The BMJ commission on NHS recommending the incoming government declare “a state of emergency in health and social care.” It really is that bad. And it lowers

Fabulous news. Just 25 years since our last appearance on BBC Radio 4, @Tonygardner and I, formerly known as Struck Off and Die, have had a new series commissioned to go out in 2025, which gives us almost a whole year to pick our noses and pretend to write stuff, before knocking

We are seeing more patients and handling more results, prescriptions, and hospital correspondence, than at any point in history. The only part of the NHS that has returned (and passed) pre pandemic levels of work. And yet apparently we still aren’t doing enough?
