Good thread. All very relevant. I’d qualify slightly in that Labour Right are interested in holding office (first bureaucratically inside the party, then, ideally in government), but have no real interest in in exercising power, which they’re happy to let capitalists keep doing.

The scale of the horror in Gaza is already impossible to process.

An invasion of Rafah means catastrophe beyond imagination.

I spoke to UNICEF's James Elder about what that really means.

The assault on Rafah is another utterly despicable war crime.

As bombs rain down on a trapped and terrified population, we implore our government to find an ounce of humanity and end its complicity in this senseless massacre.

Wake up. This is not war. This is genocide.

I wouldn't get too excited at the news that Hamas has accepted an Egyptian-Qatari ceasefire proposal because it's not clear that Israel has. The big sticking point: Hamas wants a permanent ceasefire, but Netanyahu rejects that and wants to invade Rafah. aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/…

What's happened in Gaza is one of the great crimes of this century - and it's been aided and abetted by our government & politicians. And now we're on the brink of yet another Israeli assault.

Israel is preparing an invasion of Rafah knowing there is nowhere safe for Palestinians to go. Israel is preparing to unleash further mass slaughter anticipating it will face zero consequences from its key allies in the West. We must act. Emergency Rally tomorrow. 6 PM.

The assault on Rafah is genocide in action. Political leaders in the UK must call this for what it is, it’s a war crime. International action is needed to halt the attack. We need an urgent vote in Parliament to end the UK’s complicity in this & to end the arms sales to Israel

Amazing that running for Mayor of London on a platform of 'I hate London and everyone who lives in London' didn't work.

Are you a young person taking direct action against genocide? Mr Dershowitz is coming for your *checks notes* boombox.

Labour were also defeated in many places by independents, some of whom are former Labour councillors. Again, they look like a much more plausible 'real opposition' than Reform. Where is the reporting on this, and on its implications for the general election?

Reform won 2 councillors in a Conservative borough this week, & lost their one councillor in a Labour city. The Greens beat Labour in every ward in central Bristol. They're the real opposition to Labour in many places, where's their BBC piece?bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…?
