Tonight with great sadness I am standing down as C.O of Ilfracombe Sea Cadets. It’s been an amazing journey and a very rewarding experience. I have met some amazing people in Ilfracombe in the last 4.5 years. The unit has changed so much in this time.

Last night was A/C Macie’s last night at Ilfracombe Sea Cadets as A/C Macie transfers to another unit in the District.
Over the last 4 years A/C Macie, has been offshore on T/S Royalist, T/S Jack Petchey, Good Luck

It’s a very warm 6.0 degrees, the sun is rising. Already for the first course of the year this time C.O is attending.

BZ to all the cadets out on parade today Despite the incredibly wet weather you all conducted yourselves with outstanding commitment and professionalism on parade. You turned out in your No1s and the effort you put into them was clear. As well as the juniors.

Today juniors, seniors, staff and members of Ilfracombe RBL took 2 minutes silence at 11am to mark Remembrance Day, the unit also supported the RBL poppy sales in the town.

Congratulations to A/C Ben who has just completed his RYA Intermediate Powerboating and Essential Navigation and Seamanship, now he has completed these courses A/C Ben is now able to be awarded his Master Coxswain Qualification also.

As today is the Anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar here is HMS Victory firing Broadside.

O/C Freya is travelling to London today to be part of Devon District squad for National Trafalagar parade on Sunday as part of the P.T Display Team, Have the best time and enjoy.

Good luck to A/C Macie who is spending 2 weeks on the Yachts to complete her D.O.E Silver Award. A/C Macie has already earned RYA Competent Crew + RYA Start Sailing in a previous voyage.

The unit played host to several local charities last night with cheques being issued towards funding different programs in the future.
The funds came for Ilfracombe Carnival Fundraising.
