We've been working with apprentices The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre. We discussed speed, using a mobile phone while driving, the importance of seatbelts & the dangers of drink/drug driving. We also talked tyre safety & tried out beer goggles as part of an impairment test. Sheffield City Council

Did you know it's the 8th UN Global Road Safety Week? This year, the focus from organisers World Health Organization (WHO) is on walking & cycle safety. The aim is to promote & help people to choose walking & cycling, which are healthy, green, sustainable & economically advantageous modes of transport.

Because of the forces involved in a crash, the road users most likely to be injured in a collision are pedestrians, cyclists, horse riders & motorcyclists, with children, older adults and disabled people being more at risk. If you're driving a vehicle, please look out for them.
