A real shame to see this - but sadly not surprising. The Turing has come a long way from hand-wringing on online harms to tangible work in AI weather forecasting, AI for science and small footprint models. Clearly something is broken at the top.

While I do wish the UK Prime Minister's new AI advisor came from a more scientific background, it is refreshing to see the appointment of someone in their prime with relevant expertise, instead of yet another government 'scientific advisor' with an MBE/CBE and adult diapers.
