Contractual lecturers working in different colleges across J&K find themselves in a financial bind due to significantly lower salaries compared to Ladakh and other states. While Ladakh recently enhanced salaries from ₹40,000 to ₹57,000, J&K pays ₹28,000 for PhD/NET holders 1/2
