We expect Network Rail to improve the reliability of its lifts. The company recognises the need to improve, and has shared an improvement plan with us. We are continuing to monitor its progress closely.

ORR So no enforcement action against Waterloo breaching the regulations by making their own load limit sign out of A4 paper for a lift. Is there any point to you as a regulator if you don't ensure legal compliance?

An amazing coincidence that there was a Modern Railways article featuring this very topic earlier this year. It’s almost as if the author foresaw train service cuts to match resource levels as a likely outcome…

You could go by train this summer for days out - but SWR Help have different ideas! Cutting services due to an over reliance on rest day working rather than recruiting sufficient numbers of staff. Heidi Alexander MP how is this acceptable? You promised improvements?!? SWR Watch

Andy Castledine Modern Railways SWR drivers are on a seven day roster. If you are going to get yourself into a mess by not having a sensible establishment, recruitment and training plan, this is a more sensible option than RDW agreements where you hand over control to ASLEF Sickness and leave my arse.

Morning all. We'll be writing to Lawrence Bowman, MD of SWR Help in the coming days. Please let us know what issues and questions you'd like us to raise.

SWR Watch (@swtrains_watch) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Help, SWR Help passengers! Have you run into any problems with contactless payments (Tap2Go, bank card, phone) including when applying for Delay Repay? We'd really appreciate it if you could share your experiences.

Yet again, a weakening in services. No engagement, no consultation. South Western Railway need to show up and explain the detail of these changes. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Victoria Gentle Network Rail Wessex SWR Help After the Carmont accident, “World” renowned leading experts have been advising Network Rail on climate change to make the railway more resilient during periods of extreme weather, what happened here, didn’t they see this “dry” spring coming?

Victoria Gentle Network Rail Wessex SWR Help You ask what can be done in the future to prevent this happening again? This is a four mile stretch of railway with with a 40mph TSR.There are RHTT trains which treat the rails when adhesion is low, and weed killing trains, why not water spraying trains for keeping the clay wet.

Did SWR Help try to hide these cancellations? The thread below reveals a list over three posts detailing services, including peak-time ones, that have been cancelled from today until the end of August. Thanks to Peter N and the original source for publishing.

Update: SWR Help's summer timetable reveals 355 weekday cuts (71 trains p/day). Notably, busy peak services are impacted, contradicting earlier statements. Here's the list which they've finally published: southwesternrailway.com/plan-my-journe… Why the delay? Heidi Alexander MP

Hi SWR Help please tell your platform staff at Clapham Junc. that they should NOT criticise disabled people for not booking assistance in advance, should NOT pressure disabled people to always book assistance in advance. Turn-up-and-go is our legal right!

"A better deal for commuters," eh? That's what Labour's leaflet claims. Heidi Alexander MP, please enlighten us: name one benefit SWR Help passengers have been enjoying since the government's takeover in May?

Despite promises of cheaper travel, SWR Help passengers are now paying significantly more for less. Over the past year, rail fares climbed 5.1% on average (inflation was 2.6%), with advance fares in the South East jumping almost 10%. Heidi Alexander MP Why? theguardian.com/money/2025/jul…
