Today at the #IAEA Board of Governors’ special meeting I reiterated Switzerland’s strong condemnation of the Russian attack on Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in #Ukraine. The hospital is a beneficiary of IAEA - International Atomic Energy Agency ⚛️’s technical cooperation programs for medical nuclear applications.

Joint #NPT call by 🇦🇷🇦🇺🇧🇷🇨🇦🇫🇮🇫🇷🇩🇪🇬🇭🇮🇪🇯🇵🇰🇿🇲🇽🇵🇭🇸🇪🇨🇭🇰🇷🇹🇭🇬🇧🇺🇸 for urgent development of concrete, credible, and practical measures that could reduce the risk of nuclear weapon use. Pending the elimination of nuclear weapons, risk reduction goes hand in hand with disarmament.

Challenging but important discussions at the #NPT2024 #NPTPrepCom in Geneva. Together with colleagues from Swiss Security Policy and SwitzerlandUN we underlined the need to find areas of agreement and progress even in difficult times.
