Happy 72nd Birthday to one time BOC drummer & all time Beast Rick Downey. I saw his 1st gig (22nd Aug 1981). Absolute powerhouse performer ... #BlueOysterCult youtu.be/ZAi1mIHb2FU?si…

The big 3 monthly UK Comic Auction just closed. I was originally looking for multiple Lots with a few upgrades & then spares off to Ebay sales but ended up with more "Me" stuff for the PC. I did win useful Tomb Of Drac (x8), X-men (Byrne x6) & Secret Wars lots though too ;

Just packing a few orders late night & I came across Captain America #144. The lovely art on Chapter Two made me think how under used Gray Morrow was at both Marvel & DC on their color line books. Might be more Black & White magazine material from him that I haven't seen yet ;

From when I first kicked a football aged 5 in 1970 this was my childhood for about 6 years. Following one of the finest teams in Europe. Been a tougher journey for the last 49 years or so ....

Started the year with just one FN- copy of Amazing Spider-man #124. UK Auction Lot #217 arrived today (a FN for £39) to join a FN/VFN copy I won earlier this year for £85. Very tough 20 Cents Marvel in the UK & scarcer in the US too. 3rd Under copy off to Ebay sales asap ;

Some recent Ebay wins. The two Marvel Two In One Annuals were just now. #2 being one of the greatest Bronze Age era comics i've ever read 💔 #1 is scarcer than you might think. Supes #261 seems to be a little off peak now, a FN copy for £19 this morning. + a nice 40c Rom #1 ;

Just found a great (quality) download for the classic #blueoystercult Minneapolis concert of Oct 1979. The band were blazing that year, taking the frustrations of the restrained (but wonderful) Mirrors album out in the live arena. Bloom never sounded better vocally either ;

Really pleased to have just won an as new copy of the UK's Savage Sword Of Conan #1 from November 1977. Poster still in tact. We were really excited by this quality mag in my small collecting circle way back then. I have maybe 4 copies in various grades but nothing this awesome;

Lots of good stuff at an auction tonight (Sea Devils #1, Hot Wheels #6, Blue Beetle #'s 2-6 etc). Bid on them all & lost ☹️ I did win 4 nice Silver Age DC War comic books in nice grades as a welcome consolation though. @ around 50% guide too ;

Some interesting Bronze Age Marvel wins in the last week or so. Any nice copy of Thor #225 is welcome at the right price. #112 is the 1st Mantis (cooled since the MCU films). Tricky Steranko Cap reprint in the UK, not distributed over here. DD #81 one of the nicer Nov '71 Giants;

Payday means one thing, blow it quickly ! A US seller put the CGCs in a sale that effectively paid the shipping to the UK on the COTL #30 & X-men #116. I won the Double Cover at an okay price but these freaks are getting more expensive to acquire. I think my 18th in my sub set ;

Sometimes you get a little win in the comic book world. I think this is the first British reprint of Hulk #1 from June, 1968. It's possible that could have been prior in Power's "Smash" though. Only £8 for a nice FN copy. One currently on Ebay (FN/VFN) @ £125 with 20 Watchers !!

It's rare to find early 1973 UK Marvels in nice clean, white page condition. This era also heavily hit by filled in puzzles & clipped out coupons (Foom & free posters) Very quickly bought MWOM x7 & SMCW x7 last night at buy me now pricing. New covers by Starlin & Buckler ;

Waiting on some deliveries so pulled some Pre Hero (Torch in #101) Strange Tales issues from the PC for a photoshoot. Have to be patient assembling these gems in the UK. I started the journey in 1990 on the TTA, JIM, TOS, AAF, ST issues. Very rewarding when they land though ;

That's me up on the balcony at 12:43 ! They were superb all night long & after a couple of tough years I really needed my all time fav band local to me at that time. It turned it all around 😁; #blueoystercult youtu.be/JOEX9MhaDp4?si…

Had a strange old day bidding on that elusive complete copy of Mighty World Of Marvel #1. Lost a FN+ copy @ £72 this morning & just won a VG+ ish copy for a steal minutes ago. Seller replied to say it is fine inside. Been an almost 53 year journey since I was given #8 late in '72
