Do you have any personal rules of thumb when it comes to editing? E.g. I won't touch a first draft until it has sat for 6+ months and I've written a novel's worth of new words on other projects(this is bc I've then learned enough my edits are more effective)

Studied to be a teacher, got my bachelor's in primary education studies, which is what they give you if you make it most of the way but dont finish. I love to teach, but iv funnelled that into a much more enjoyable profession that the government doesnt shit on regularly
