Ofcom Can you please explain how my once local commercial radio station (Swansea Sound) is now becoming a national radio station under Bauer, with absolutely no local programmes other than a half bit attempt to provide an excuse for a Welsh language show at 10pm?

Shamefully, Bauer completes its destruction of the much-loved Swansea Sound by axing all the local daytime programming on “Greatest Hits Radio South Wales”. And all without a peep from Ofcom, seemingly. (Via ⁦⁦RadioToday Wales⁩) radiotoday.co.uk/2023/01/12/gre…

GHR will retain its Welsh-language late show with Gareth Hurford alongside local news and traffic bulletins. According to the schedules, Swansea Sound veteran Steve Dewitt will present the station’s final English-language local show on Sunday from 6-10am. planetradio.co.uk/greatest-hits/…

#Swansea Sound was the first #ILR to construct its own studios.Opened 30/9/74 the building closed for the last time 1/12/23 ending over 49 years of broadcasting history. The longest continuously used ILR studios in the UK. Here's some pictures through the decades ❤️

15 Years today since my final radioshow on #ValleysRadio (before they closed it). Some really good times and people came from that little station next to festival park in Ebbw Vale. Just a few little shots from back in the day #wales #localradio #ebbwvale #valleysradio

50 years ago, preparations were well underway for the September launch of the first commercial radio station in Wales. If Swansea Sound were still on air, would you be listening today? (Vol up) Credit: 1980's Swansea Sound main theme (Sue Manning Productions) #swansea
