Big Mac slept sound last night. He splattered me with blood this morning. All the preparations had been made. As anybody who has had to let a dog go knows the decision is agony. In the end I decided it wasn’t his time (1/5) 🧵

I had his friends come to walk him this morning and all planned out. But his ear finally stopped bleeding with some emergency steps. I had to think very very long and hard. These decisions are brutal (2/5)

In the end Big Mac made the decision for me. I don’t know if it was the burger and sausages last night but this morning but he was on top form. The dogs let you know when it is time. Last night it was. This morning it absolutely was not. (3/5)

It’s not as if he is fixed. His heart is bad, his ear could explode at any second and his kidneys are failing. But Big Mac told me today was not the day. Of course I then felt guilty for even thinking and planning it. We will take it one hour at a time now (4/5)

Today was unexpected. Big Mac is happy and not in too much pain. He’s eating and walking like a king. He’ll tell me when. He certainly didn’t want to go today. Too much fun to be had he said ❤️ (5/5)
