Excellent week ski touring in Dovrefjell, Norway with Andrew Hogarth & Mark Ireland . When the wind drops and the sun comes out, the mountains are magnificent. When the wind picks up and the spindrift whirls, they are still magnificent!

As we have had a number of changes I thought it would be a good idea to update the cycling programme, take note of the changes to the Stranraer to Berwick Trip.

A pleasant bimble down the dry route of Sell Gill Holes today. Our good deed of the day was to rescue this little chappie, whose future wasn't looking bright at the foot of the 2nd pitch. Paul & Nick

Well done to the 422 competitors who completed yesterday's Swaledale Marathon. It was great to be back and we hope you all enjoyed the day, despite the challenging wind. The photos show the start and the winner, Jamie Rutherford, going through the Surrender Bridge checkpoint.

Some overnight rain gave "sporting" water levels for Saturday's County Pot trip. We took the traditional route (via Poetic Justice) to Eureka Junction and White Line Chamber. Paul, Bob, Chris and Peter.

Great workout down Link Pot yesterday with energetic crawling, thought-provoking steps across the canyon and into Tiger's Inlet and the ever-lovely entrance pitch. We saved the Serendipity pitches and Easy Street for a day with less rain in the forecast. Chris, Nick & Paul.

3 walkers wandered up Great Whernside on Bank Holiday Monday. To our surprise we found a pothole and also found caving kit in our large rucksacks. 5 hours later we emerged well tired after a first visit for all of us to Langcliffe Pot via Oddmire Pot. Photos by Pete.

We switched from Hurnell Moss Pot to Rift Pot (both on Ingleborough) for yesterday's caving trip after Friday's rain. An awesome pot with really dramatic situations. Mostly on the rope all the way down (and back) via the Bob Hole. Paul, Nick, Astrid and Andy. Photos by Astrid.

Good turnout of 7 for Simpson's Pot trip on 19th Nov, billed as easy SRT. Astrid rigged as far as Storm Pot. A mixed experience group all had a worthwhile and enjoyable trip. We're now in the winter caving season, needing our helmet lights for the walk back down to the cars.

Today's sub-zero temperatures called for a trip with a short walk-in, so Alison, Paul and Nick opted for a fun but chilly trip in Short Drop Cave. We went as far as the start of the Gavel Pot traverse and then reversed our inward route.

Cracking trip down Lost Johns yesterday. Just Andy and me, so we nicely filled 2 tackle bags for Cathedral route to Sink Chamber. Andy put his recent ⁦Council for the Northern Caving Community⁩ training into practice and rigged it all.
