What a week in Reception! We met Zola the therapy dog 🐶, got creative with crafting, and explored learning through play 🎨🧩✨ So many smiles, discoveries!

This morning, KS2 welcomed the student leadership team (featuring a couple of former SVdP pupils) from The Saint John Henry Newman Catholic School who led an assembly all about democracy. Thank you for the inspiration ahead of our own democratic vote for school parliament members!

Year 4 Science Today the classes joined together to find out the results of our Science experiment. We couldn't believe the damage that some of the liquids did to the egg shells. We must remember to brush our teeth!

Phonics Friday!! Blending and segmenting are the building blocks of reading and writing. 👉 Blending = putting sounds together to read words. 👉 Segmenting = breaking words into sounds to spell them. Practice will build confident, fluent readers!

Reception classes enjoyed walking around the school in their pilgrimage today. They came up with many ideas on how to show kindness and compassion.

Reception enjoyed learning about Diwali – the Festival of Light! 🌟 The children listened to the story of Rama and Sita and created beautiful diva lamps, rangoli patterns, and mehndi designs.
