Black & mixed women are more likely to experience sexual violence & less likely to get effective support. My research is trying to understand how sexual violence impacts black women’s mental health and identity.

Sexual violence against women is common & something needs to be done to stop it. The mental health consequences of sexual violence are huge. Black women are more likely to experience sexual violence & less likely to get effective support.

sexual violence is a key tool in creating and maintaining economic inequality. victims often pay an invisible "rape tax" for the rest of their lives.

the overrepresentation of rich survivors in public discourse keeps society from understanding how financially devastating gendered violence is on a mass scale. this is a case where "representation matters" actually works lol

getting raped and/or abused is SO expensive!!!! I'm still mad no one warned me!!!

As I go into the final year of my doctorate I am more motivated than ever to make sure that Black women are given a voice via my research. It's the final push and I will put everything I can into this project
