Yesterday I had the great pleasure of working with ECHO and artist Jenny Leonard Art in a workshop for families working with the echo charity. I had a blast drawing and sharing why I love cardiovascular research! Thanks as always to Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences public engagement team.

Very excited to say that our first paper on in-vitro models of vascular pathology is out. We review the different aspects to consider when developing these models in the lab. Thanks to my amazing supervisors for all their support Pablo Lamata (CMIB) Eileen Gentleman Lab Rebecca Shipley

Two strokes about research 1. Itβs a team work - a pleasure to share this day with Cam π¬ & Dr Cristobal Rodero, award dedicated to whole team and collaborators 2. Itβs a roller coaster, hence the value of public engagement to recharge our motivation batteries Thanks British Heart Foundation !!

Thrilled to share our new manuscript out in Nature Reviews Methods Primers πwhere we discuss how hydrogels can provide mechanical cues to encapsulated cells for studies in cell biology π©βπ¬ & applications in regenerative medicine, disease modelling & immunotherapies π§ͺ rdcu.be/c1Fmt

Massive congratulations to CCRB members for receiving academic promotions in Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences at King's ππ Eileen Gentleman Eileen Gentleman Lab was promoted to Professor and Ana Angelova Volponi was promoted to Reader. Thoroughly deserved!

Check out our paper in Adv Func Mater @AdvSciNews ππ₯³We put a FRET sensor of MMP activity into PEG hydrogels & used fluorescence lifetime imaging to monitor MMP activity around cells. We show real-time MMP activity without genetically modifying cells. π§΅πonlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/adβ¦
