✨John Ruskin described Lincoln Cathedral as “out and out the most precious piece of architecture in the British Isles.” Its grandeur is unmatched, but the medieval Romanesque details—like the west front door—feel truly otherworldly, as if from another planet. 🪐

The National Trust looks after more nature & wildlife than any other charity. We’re a major owner of land & historic places that are under threat from floods, wildfire, species loss. Tackling climate change jsn’t an ‘over reach.’ It’s part of the conservation we were founded for.

We've completely lost the plot. The pursuit of a career in the arts is supposed to take time. It's supposed to require endless practice. Anything that comes quickly often goes away just as fast. If you don't enjoy making music, you should question why you're doing it.

With a ceasefire agreement made, I welcome the end of 15 months of horrendous violence, and the return soon of hostages. Building a peaceful future must begin with real aid for #Gaza, recognition of a Palestinian state, and prosecuting all those involved in war crimes.

With all the excitement about Bob #Dylan - why not book me to lecture to your The Arts Society about Warhol & Dylan? My talk 'Pop goes the Artist' starts with this 1965 photo by Nat Finkelstein - showing the 2 men wrangling over a magnificent 'Double Elvis' #ACompleteUnknown

#Gaza ceasefire is such a relief - tho it could’ve been agreed months ago & saved so much pain. And effects of genocide will be felt for years - unexploded ordinance, destruction of infrastructure, health system etc. Lasting peace must mean end to occupation & a Palestinian state

Many of John Ruskin's watercolours reflect an interest in the close observation of skies and clouds, studied at dawn, sunset (as here in 1845) and in varying weather conditions. His interest in these themes was a lifelong one, he once observed: 'It is a strange thing how little

Wow, so sewagemap.co.uk is now live for all English water companies. And I think it's fair to say England is looking rather sh*tty today... An important platform... well done Alex Lipp for making this happen.
