In our second year of pumpkin composting with garverfeedmill over 70 pumpkins (600+ lbs) carved during their Pumpkin Party were transported by our compost interns to our food scrap program partner Neighboorhood Food Solutions, where they are now being used for compost.

With the start of the school year, we're hard at work partnering with Madison Schools (WI) on implementing lunchtime recycling programs. Cartons are the most recyclable item from school lunch. We anticipate 500,000+ cartons from this program will be recycled annually by 7,000 students.

For the holidays, Sustain Dane adopted a tree in Downtown Madison for the Seasonal Planter Partner Shine On Madison program. In our sustainable fashion, we decorated the tree/planters with aluminum can ornaments and reclaimed wood. Visit our tree on the 300 block of State St.
